Flowers are elegant, fragrant, beautiful and magical - all things that make them wonderful Valentine's Day gifts. But finding the perfect bouquet for your beloved can be a daunting task. Sure, roses are traditional, and always appreciated. But if you want to break out of the box a little, try some of these non-standard blooms instead:
Tulips: Did you know that tulips also mean love? Plus, they come in a variety of hues, so you can easily find one in your lover's favorite color.

Carnations: A delicate and feminine flower, carnations also come in a variety of colors. But be careful: white carnations are commonly used in funerals. Stick with the brighter colors, like yellow (which means cheerful) and pink (which means gratitude).
Orchids: Known for their delicate beauty, orchids also mean exactly that. By sending a bouquet with these lovely blossoms, you'll be telling your lover, "You are absolutely gorgeous."
Violets: Their deep color will look striking in any bouquet. They mean faithfulness, and are a great way to show your significant other that you will always be at his or her side. |
